Polytechnic Trades Highschool

In DR Congo the routine high school curriculum does not necessarily lead to employment. MHCD Polytechnic Highschool offers a routine curriculum in maths, science, IT, biology, languages, teaching. These subjects are not an option for many students in the community.
Trade skills are a very attractive alternative.
These skills are urgently required in many fields and trade school graduates can more easily secure employment. This initiative covers training in the electical trades, tailoring, car mechanics, solar electrician, building, painting and plumbing. There are 1600 students many of whom are orphans.

The cost of supporting a student at the trades college is $40 per month or about $480 per year.
